On March 24, 1941, the first clash between German and British forces in Africa took place as the 5th Light Division drove a British force out of the town of El Agheila. By April 1st, the Light Division was on a reconnaissance in force, which Rommel apparently intended as a general offensive (despite orders to remain on the defensive). Elements of the British 5th Royal Tank Regiment set up a roadblock on the 2nd of April to slow the German rapid advance.
Objectives: Your company is to clear the wadi immediately to the north of enemy units. Once this is accomplished, your platoon is to attempt a reconaissance patrol to the objectives marked north of the wadi lines.
